West started with 1 club and 3 spades. If he was 3451, I'm guessing he doubles, instead of bidding diamonds. So I'll say he started off 3361, or maybe even 3271.
ReplyDeleteIf LHO has KQx of hearts, low to the jack will endplay him. However, so far, he has shown up with the KC, AKD, and the QH. He might have the KQ, and he probably needs one of the heart honours, but for his bid he doesn't need both.
If hearts are H(9?)x - H(9?)x, I have no play for 2 heart tricks. If hearts are Hx-Hxxx, I can play low towards the jack, and rise with the ace on the heart return, hoping to drop the king.
Since these two holdings seem to be my only hopes, that's how I play it.
One final note - since I'm planning on leading hearts from my hand, there's no harm in playing 2 more trumps first.
